Apparently one other forum member is also in this game. So, I figured I may as well start up a thread for it.
Of course, the results of the set-up turn aren't even back yet, so nothing much to say about it except... hopefully I'll run across a RAW-30 ALY-30 world.
P.S. I do remember once having something like a RAW-29/ALY-26 world. Ahhh... it was like Christmas.

Well, it sure has been interesting. The way I understand it, about four players were usually placed in the center of the map, with the other eight out around the edges. In this game, all twelve players are crammed together out on the edge, with the middle being left empty. This has made for quite a lot of early contact - and combat.
That is because there were no 'safe' stars to go to on the first turn. When you showed up at your closest stars on the first turn, your neighbors on both sides of you were also there. Interesting times.
So far I have seen a one-on-one, a two-on-one, and a three-on-one war - and its only turn 6! I'm in the three-on-one, although since that player attacked the other three, it might be more accurate to call it a one-on-three. I think he has a death wish!
